Job Description

ALTBAU is a new bakery, cafe, and community at space in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, led by Chad Robertson, founder of Tartine bakery, and slated to open in Fall 2026. We are seeking ambitious and highly motivated pastry cooks to join our opening team.

The role will encompass enriched and laminated doughs, as well as seasonal cakes, tarts, and pastries, with an emphasis on regeneratively grown grain, freshly milled regional flour, and the finest ingredients available regionally and beyond.

Candidates should:

• Be driven, detail-oriented, work effectively as part of a team, and have clear communication skills
• Have a minimum of two years of professional experience in baking or pastry
• Demonstrate kindness, care, and respect toward colleagues and the workplace
• Have the ability to lift thirty to fifty pounds and stand for extended periods of time
• Be available to work early morning shifts, weekends, and holidays
