Job Description

About Obsidian Systems: Obsidian Systems is an innovative, rapidly growing technology consulting and professional services firm specializing in delivering complex, enterprise-grade software solutions for clients across traditional and non-traditional financial institutions. We place ourselves at the absolute cutting edge of digital modernizations, maintaining an acute technical focus inside the blockchain, decentralized network, and fintech sectors. As we expand our strategic operational presence into the United Kingdom and Western European markets, we build the elite, high-performing engineering cells and delivery frameworks that enable global financial and regulatory groups to deploy the next generation of transactional infrastructure.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly articulate, detail-oriented, and technically literate Software Project Manager to lead high-impact client initiatives under a permanent, full-time remote framework open across the United Kingdom and Europe (CET time zones). Operating within a technically consulting context, you will step up to claim absolute delivery execution, resource allocation scheduling, and cross-functional project roadmap accountability. Shifting completely away from routine office virtual assistant scheduling, entry-level clerical data entry, or generic helpdesk support loops, you will run an active multi-tenant software delivery, agile pipeline triage, and workflow optimization laboratory—partnering face-to-face with premier client stakeholders and elite software engineers specializing in blockchain architectures. This position requires a delivery authority with 5+ years of software project management history who handles engineering lifecycles fluidly natively using Project Management methodologies, evaluates complex system dependencies and technical blockers cleanly across multiple time zones, and guides agile ceremonies confidently to ensure projects are completed with zero quality exceptions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Core Project Delivery Governance: Manage multiple concurrent, high-stakes software development projects for key corporate clients in the UK and Europe from inception through successful deployment natively utilizing Project Management parameters.
  • Agile Pipeline Architecture: Organize, run, and advocate for best practices during agile ceremonies—encompassing sprint planning milestones, daily distributed standups, iterative retrospectives, and rigorous product backlog grooming sessions.
  • Cross-Functional Communications Liaison: Function as a high-clarity technical translator, bridging abstract engineering rules with non-technical business clients to maintain precise strategic alignment.
  • Risk & Dependency Mitigation: Proactively analyze, identify, and triage multi-layered technical dependencies, operational risks, and resource bottlenecks, formulating rapid remediation tracks to safeguard delivery timelines.
  • Linear System Telemetry Tracking: Maintain absolute record accuracy across internal project tracking engines (specifically utilizing Linear), updating core performance indicators, milestones, and blockages to give visibility to leadership.
  • Distributed Remote Team Cultivation: Foster seamless synchronous and asynchronous collaboration patterns across distributed engineering units operating across multiple continental time zones.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5+ years of verified professional history operating as a Technical Project Manager, Scrum Master, Delivery Lead, or closely related engineering management capacity.
  • Mandatory Domain Background: Proven history leading technical software delivery pipelines specifically situated within the financial services, fintech, regulatory tech, blockchain, web3, or open-source software sectors.
  • A formal Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Infrastructure, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent practical field consultation depth).
  • Grounded, expert-level understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) combined with rigorous practical mastery over Scrum and Kanban delivery frameworks.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication strengths in English, with an established ability to build trust and influence cross-functional technical teams effectively.
  • Location Context: Position operates under remote geographic guidelines open to qualified engineering delivery leaders residing permanently within the United Kingdom or Western Europe (natural alignment with CET ±5 hours required).

Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)

  • Prior experience operating inside an active technical consulting agency, professional services organization, or fast-growing enterprise IT services boutique.
  • Direct operational familiarity utilizing Linear as a primary project management, bug tracking, and milestone instrumentation console.
  • Exposure to systems utilizing data science analytics, cloud-native storage nodes, or decentralized network protocol configurations.

What We Offer

  • Competitive European Tech Consulting Salary: A competitive, experience-calibrated base salary structure optimized for top-tier delivery talent across the UK and European regions.
  • 100% remote workspace flexibility from anywhere within the United Kingdom or eligible European areas, enabling true location independence.
  • Direct professional immersion at the cutting edge of blockchain engineering, building next-generation digital finance capabilities for premium international brands.
  • Access to progressive technology project suites, advanced engineering management models, and collaborative flat developer cultures.
  • Generous vacation schedules, flexible remote work policies, and extensive corporate paths for career advancement and technical mastery.
